Emma Raducanu is about to face Louisa Chirico in her opening match in Washington soon after to strike a collaboration with her new coach Dmitry Tursunov. Dmitry is a great coach who, according to a British MP, has the big issue of being Russian.
According to Chris Bryant, a Labour politician, Emma should reconsider her partnership with Tursunov. According to the Telegraph, the MP commented:
“The Kremlin will use this decision for its propaganda as a clue that Britain is not all that worried about the war in Ukraine.
It would be a shame if Emma went ahead with this idea of her, I ask her to seriously reconsider and condemn Putin’s barbaric war.”
Recently, Emma confirmed that her partnership with Tursunov is only on a trial basis. Anyway, Dmitry has already some other commitments during the WTA1000 in Toronto.
