Djokovic confirms he is training for the US Open hoping he will be allowed to compete

Novak Djokovic gives an update about what he has been doing in the last few days

Djokovic Preparing For Us Open

Novak Djokovic, unfortunately, is currently not allowed to compete in North America because he decided not to be vaccinated for the coronavirus. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that Novak will skip the last slam of the year. Nevertheless, there is a chance that the former world number 1 will find a way at the last moment, also hoping for the rules to be changed.

Djokovic decided to update his fans on what he has been doing. He is already training on hard courts hoping that he can play in the US Open. This was the message that he left them on social media:

“I just wanted to take a moment and say to all of you how grateful I am to see so many messages of support and love from all around the world these days. 🙏🏻

I wasn’t expecting it, and that’s why it feels so mindblowing. Just wanted to say THANK YOU. 🙏🏻❤️

It feels special that people connect with my tennis career in such a loving and supportive way and wish for me to continue to compete.

I am preparing as if I will be allowed to compete, while I await to hear if there is any room for me to travel to US. Fingers crossed!”
