Grigor Dimitrov had a fantastic 2017 after he conquered the titles in Brisbane, Sofia, and Cincinnati before winning the ATP Finals.
Unfortunately, the current season didn’t go Grigor’s was as the Bulgarian hasn’t won a single title and he has no chances to qualify for the finals.
Of course, Dimitrov is not done and he is already planning on having a much better 2019. To achieve that, he has added a rather important person in his coaching team: Andre Agassi.
The American will help Grigor on a “casual basis” a bit as he did with Novak Djokovic (but hoping to have better results).
Why Valleverdu is so excited to have Agassi on board
During an interview with ATP Tennis Radio, Dani Valleverdu confirmed Agassi’s partnership to say
“I thought that having somebody like Andre around, who has known Grigor since he was a junior, would be an incredible asset to have.
He’s someone that can help build that career we are looking. I think he can bring a lot of things, not only on the court but off the court too.
It’s totally up to him. Grigor is very relaxed about it. He’s not asking for any commitment that Andre is uncomfortable with. Obviously the more the better. We’re very thrilled to have him around.
The last few weeks we have spent with him has been extremely productive and positive.”
Dimitrov is about to start his run in Paris where he will face Roberto Bautista Agit in the opener. Let’s see how much Andre’s input will halep the Bulgarian.
WILL THEY BE SUCCESSFUL?
