Simona Halep congratulates Copil for his great run in Basel

The tennis fans in Romania have lots to cheer this week even if Simona Halep wasn’t able to compete at the WTA Finals (injury) after Marius Copil surprised after reaching the final in Basel.

The world no.93 is having the week of his life after he won 6 matches in Basel following also 2 prestigious wins against Marin Cilic (world no.6) and Sascha Zverev (world no.5).

The Romanian is the clear underdog in the final also because he will face home favorite Roger Federer that has already won 8 titles in Basel and he is playing his 14th final.

1 thing is sure for Marius. Even if he will not have the support of the local crowd he can rely on the backing of his compatriots around the world.
