Tough luck for Vika Azarenka that is really struggling to get back to her best tennis.
The former world no.1 lost in the Wimbledon second round to a very good Bojana Jovanovsky. Vika lost the match 6-3 3-6 7-5 mainly because she had a horrible break points conversion (just 3 out of 19) while Bojana converted 4 out of 7.
Besides stuggling in the important moments (rusty?), Vika’s tennis was generally better to score more points than Jovanovsky (104 vs. 100). Match Stats.
Azarenka: I am very motivated
Vika was not demoralized at all by the result “There are things that I’m happy with. I just need to look at the things that I need to improve. That’s what I want to focus on. I want to go back to practice tomorrow, maybe even today. I’m very motivated. I’m not taking this match as a downer. I’m going to take it as motivation to be better.”
Jovana will play world no. 175 Tereza Smitkova in the next round.
