Djokovic has a great start in Wimbledon

Super start of his grass campaign for Novak Djokovic!

The Serbian destroyed world no.56 Andrey Golubev 6-0 6-1 6-4 in just 87 minutes.

Nole didn’t leave much to his opponent to win the first 11 games. After he was leading with a merciless 6-0 5-0 score line, the seed no.1 became more “normal” to give the public a sort of match. (That means that Golubev managed to win 5 games…).

Some numbers

Nole scored 92 points vs. Golubev’s 57. The Serbian committed just 14 unforced errors (22 for the Russian) and he fired 7 aces (0 double faults). Match Stats

Djokovic:  It was a great start

Novak was obviously jubilant for his performance “It was a great start. Obviously first official match on a grass court season this year. Coming into Wimbledon with no official matches, it always gives you an extra reason to get that commitment and focus from the start and try to play as best as you can, so that’s what I did. Very, very pleased with my performance overall today.”

Next vs. Stepanek

Novak will play Radek Stepanek in the second round. Head to head is 10-1 for Djokovic. Radek is a dangerous customer, but the world no.2 should have many problems to get to the third round.
