Jannik Sinner has just announced that he will not compete in the upcoming ATP500 in Hamburg. The Italian sensation rolled his ankle when he was facing Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon quarter-final. Apparently, he is not yet at his 100% and therefore, he decided to be back to competitions only on the occasion of the tournament in Umag that will take place in a couple of weeks.

“After discussing with my team, we made the decision not to play Hamburg. I twisted my ankle slightly when I crashed in the quarter-final against Djokovic at Wimbledon and as a precaution we decided to take some time: more time before my next tournament in Umag. I was looking forward to playing in Hamburg, which is a city and a tournament that I really like, he said ”

Carlos Alcaraz, Andrey Rublev and Diego Sebastian Schwartzman are still on the entry list and they will lead the draw.
