Simona Halep is not having much fun recently.

The world no.1 has lost the last 4 matches, and her campaign in Asia was a bit of a disaster because of a back injury. The Romanian confirmed that she has a herniated disk, but she is willing to compete in Singapore for the finals. Therefore, she didn’t withdraw from Moscow to test her currently fitness after long sessions of physiotherapy.

The 8 seeds in Moscow are Simona Hale, Karolina Pliskova, Sloane Stephens, Kiki Bertens, Anastasija Sevastova, Darya Kasatkina, Elise Mertens, and Anett Kontaveit.
