Juan Martin Del Potro was having a fantastic season, but once again he had to surrender to a physical problem.
Currently ranked no.4, Juan Martin had what seemed to be an “ordinary fall” while playing Coric in the 3rd round in Shanghai.
Unfortunately, Juan Martin had to withdraw from the match, and later he learned that he ruptured his kneecap in that fall.

The comment from Del Potro
Juan Martin commented
“It’s a very difficult moment. I feel very sad. It’s a hard blow that leaves me without strength. It’s very difficult for me to think about recovery again, I did not expect this to happen,” said Delpo that is currently wearing a splint on his right leg.
The possible scenario
With this kind of information, it’s clear that the season is over for Juan Martin.
Hoping for the best.
Such rough news for the tennis world and the millions of @delpotrojuan fans. He has a fractured knee cap.. this will be a tough road emotionally for Juan after all the time he’s lost to wrist injuries. I’m Hopeful he can recover and return to the court next year.

Even more awful for Del Potro as he was clearly not in any shape to play in Shanghai due to illness. He pushed and pushed his body to go on, but probably shouldn’t have. Terrible luck all around. Injuries will plague his career until the end I fear.
