Kumantsov banned for life for match fixing

We are sure that Andrey Kumantsov would have liked to hit the headlines for different reasons, but apparently his results were not good enough. So there was another way.

Now ranked world no788, Kumantsov was found guilty by the Tennis Integrity Unit of 12 charges after committing his offences between 2010 and 2013. This Tennis Integrity Unit is formed by the ATP, the WTA, the ITF and the Grand Slam Committee.

The player has been banned for life with immediate effect. The Unit didn’t give any detail about these charges.

Kumantsov has reached a career high world no.261 (2010) with a prize money of $103,856.
