Roger Federer plays a really good match in the quarters in Shanghai to beat Kei Nishikori in straight sets.
The match
Roger started in style against the Japanese after breaking Kei in the very first game (1-0). The Swiss later managed to double up his break advantage (4-1), but Nishikori got 1 break back immediately after (4-2) to put some pressure on Federer that didn’t fold to win the opener 6-4.
Roger conquered another early break in the second set (1-0), but then Kei started to find a much better rhythm to break back Federer (3-3) before bringing the affair to the breaker.
When the Japanese got a strong 4-1 lead in the tiebreak, it seemed as the match was destined to go to the distance. However, Roger disagreed with that, and the Swiss conquered the 6 following points before winning the match 6-4 7-6 (4).
