Rafael Nadal is just unbelievable!
The Mallorcan won his 9th title at the Roland Garros bringing his win/loss record in Paris at an incredible 66-1. Nadal has now 14 majors, same as Sampras and he is only 3 short from Federer.
This year’s final wasn’t the finest. On one side Rafa was struggling with his tennis (especially the forehand), on the other Djokovic had clear problems with his fitness. So this became more and more a match based on sheer strategy and willpower. The Serbian won the first set 6-3, but it was clear that the finish line was really far away.
Rafa won the second set and he cruised in the last 2. Again this wasn’t their finest match, but we are sure that Rafa doesn’t really mind as the most important thing was winning the title.
