Novak Djokovic had to face one of the toughest losses if his fantastic career early in the year in Paris when he lost in the quarters to Marco Cecchinato. The former world no.1 was in complete distress after losing that match even doubting his participation to the grass court season. Eventually, that was the beginning of his renaissance since later he won Wimbledon, Cincinnati and the Us Open.
Djokovic had to face Cecchinato again in the 3rd round in Shanghai, and he played a fantastic match this time to win 6-4 6-0 in 69 minutes.

After the match, Nole commented
“I’m really pleased with the way I have been using my serve accurately and effectively in the first two matches, which is very important.
I was making him always play an extra shot. I was aggressive when I needed to be. The second set was perfect, really. I’m really glad to be able to finish the match the way I did.”
Next vs. Anderson
Nole will face Kevin Anderson in the quarters. The head to head is 6-1 for the Serbian that is the favorite to reach the semifinal.
