Rafael Nadal called for a press conference on Friday to announce that he will try to play in Wimbledon in 2 weeks. The Spanish sensation was unsure about his participation since he was struggling a lot with his foot injury during the recent French Open. However, Rafa received treatment and the outcome was quite good. After training for some time on grass in Mallorca, he decided to give it a shot and fly to London early next week.
During the press conference, Rafael revealed:
“On Monday I will go to London and if I travel it is because I intend to play. Then we will see what happens.
After 3 years without playing on grass you have to be patient; every day I have been improving a little in the sensations. I have one week of training left in London. I hope it will help me to become competitive at Wimbledon. On grass, there is little logic.”
Nadal also said that he is not limping anymore and the pain in his foot has lowered. He will play some matches in Hurlingham.
