Anastasija Sevastova reaches the most important final of her career after beating Naomi Osaka in straight sets in Beijing.
The Latvian played a fantastic match to also take advantage of a “bad day” for Naomi Osaka that looked spent after she won the previous encounter in 2 hours and 33 minutes after chasing her opponent for the full match.
Sevastova won 6-4 6-4 in just 91 minutes with Naomi Osaka committing 42 unforced errors.
Sevastova will face either Qiang Yang or Caroline Wozniacki for the title.
“You just start believing in yourself more and play consistently.”
