Daniil Medvedev reaches the final in Tokyo coming straight from the qualifications and after dropping just 1 set in 6 matches.
The Russian impressed in the semifinal against Denis Shapovalov to win 6-3 6-3 in just 63 minutes.

After the match, Medvedev commented
“Denis is a great player and sometimes in tennis, nobody can win all the tournaments. Sometimes you lose to someone, sometimes you beat somebody. I managed to show a really good level today, good serve. I managed to break him, so I came out on top.”
The final vs. Nishikori
Medvedev will play the final against Kei Nishikori. The head to head is 1-0 for the Japanese that is probably the favorite to win the title.
