Sara Errani won another fierce battle to reach the quarters in Paris.

The 2012 runner-up had to dig dip against world no. 7 Jelena Jankovic to win 7-6 (5) 6-2. The Serbian just crashed into a wall against the Italian that was always there fighting for every single point. Jelena had her opportunity to win the match when she couldn’t’ convert a set point when she was leading 6-5 in the first set.

About Errani silencing the Serbian supporters

Soon after winning the match Sara looked at Jelena’s 4 hyperactive supporters and with a satisfied grin she practically said to them to shut up!

Next vs. Petkovic

Sara will now play Andrea Petkovic in the quarters. Head to head is 1-1. Sara won the last one against the German on clay 1 month ago in Madrid 7-5 6-1. The Italian is the clear favorite to reach the semifinal.
