Solid Ferrer reaches the quarters in Paris

David Ferrer confirms to be one of the most solid players on tour. The world no.5 defeated boom boom Anderson 6-3 6-3 6-7 (5) 6-1 to get his 19th consecutive quarter final in a slam.

David was always in control of the match to drop just 1 set in the tiebreak. As soon as Ferrer lost the third set he immediately regrouped to get a fast 5-0 lead and win the fourth set at 1.

Ferrer: It was tough

After the match David commented “It was tough. I think in the first and second sets I played very good. I think I did not make too many mistakes. In the third, he played better. He improved his level. I played consistent. When I lost the third set, I tried to play more with my forehand, and he was more tired than me at the end of the fourth set.”

Next vs. Rafa!

David will play Rafael Nadal in quarters. Head to head Rafa leads 21-6, but David won the last one on clay and he knows he has a shot at Nadal.
