Naomi Osaka is having a fantastic year.
After winning Indian Wells, she repeated herself on an even bigger stage at the Us Open. After a couple of weeks, the Japanese managed to reach the final in Tokyo and now she is destroying everyone in Beijing.
Why is Naomi Osaka so successful
After dismissing the Julia Goerges (world no.10) in the 3rd round in Beijing 6-1 6-2, the Japanese stressed that 1 thing is essential for her success: focus.
“Key today was just staying really focused and trying to return well because we both have really good serves. Well, she has a really good serve and I have a good serve!”
Talking about being focussed, Naomi added “it’s not something that’s natural to me, and it’s something I am working on throughout this whole year. I think that finally clicked (sort of) or at least it is more consistent”
Osaka will face Shuai Zhang in the next round. She will try to keep her focus!
