The Greek concedes just 4 games to Taro Daniel. VIDEO

Stefanos Tsitsipas had a rather grim 1-4 win-loss record after his fantastic run in Toronto where he reached the final. Fortunately is fixing that.

Ranked no.15, the Greek is still hoping to qualify for the ATP Finals in London if he has a good run in the next few tournaments, but it’s time to deliver from Tokyo.

Stefanos started pretty solid in Japan where he conceded just 4 games to the world no. 72 Taro Daniel in the 1st round. After an extremely good first set (6-1), Stefanos managed to start the second set in the best possible way (with a break) before winning the encounter 6-1 6-3 in 75 minutes.

Stefanos will face either Gilles Simon or Alex De Minaur in the 2nd round.
