Djokovic edges Cilic to reach the 4th round in Paris

Novak Djokovic reaches the 4th round in Paris beating a really tough Marin Cilic.

The world no.2 had to work a lot in order to edge the Croatian that was very aggressive from the very beginning. In the first set Marin got a 3-1 lead, but then Nole refocused to win 5 consecutive games and the set (6-3). In the second set everything was smooth for Djokovic that broke Cilic twice to win 6-2. The problems came in the last 2 sets. Cilic won the third set at the breaker and he was playing at the same level with Nole in the forth. It was in his best moment (the end of the 4th set) that Marin dropped the serve to lose the match 6-3 6-2 6-7 6-4.

Djokovic: I had o work hard

Nole commented “Physically I had to work very hard, because he was very aggressive. It wasn’t easy, because once you start being passive, you lose kind of the confidence to step in. That’s what happened maybe in the end of the third and little bit of the fourth. In important moments I held my nerves and I’m very happy that I went through.”

Next vs. Tsonga

Djokovic will play Tsonga in the fourth round. Head to head is 11-5 for Nole that his the hot favorite to reach to the quarters.
