Novak Djokovic had a couple of easy rounds as he conceded just 7 games to both Joao Sousa and now to Jeremy Chardy.
The match against the Frenchman was rather painless for Nole that has got a decisive lead at the beginning of all sets to then go in “cruise control”.
Djokovic was very happy with his tennis “I managed to play some good tennis and I am already feeling like I’m improving my game as the tournament progresses. I managed to make him play an extra shot. I managed to stay solid from the baseline and I think that forced him to make a lot of unforced errors, which definitely helped me to win in straight sets.”
Next vs. Cilic
Now Novak will have to face he tough customers. In the next round he will play an in-form Marin Cilic. Djokovic leads 8-0 in the H2H stats and he will be the hot favourite, but playing Cilic in the third round is a bit early.
