Llodra receives honors after playing last match at the French Open

Michael Llodra, one of the most talented players on the circuit, will retire at the end of the year. This means that the Frenchman, after losing to Verdasco, will not play anymore at the French Open.

The French Tennis Federation had the tasteful idea to celebrate his career by handing a trophy soon after his match against Fernando. Michael was joined on the court by the French Tennis Federation  President Jean Gachassin, his former doubles partner Arnaud Clement and, more important, his son Teo.

From Llodra

An emotional Michael commented “This is really what is the most important thing to me today, apart from the wins. It’s something you remember about a court, a pleasant point and the crowd would stand up and you see your friends in the first rows in the first seats. They are not amazed, but they are so very happy. It’s this union between me, the public, the crowd, and the family.”

Michael was ranked 21 in the world and he has won so far 5 career titles. See details
