WTA Rankings. Bouchard and Puig at career high

Last week has been a great one for both Genie Bouchard and Monica Puig.

Bouchard

Genie has finally won her maiden title in Nurnberg. The entire tennis community was waiting for a breakthrough tournament from the young Canadian that has dropped just 1 set in the event. This triumph gave the opportunity to Genie to climb 3 places to be ranked world no.16 (career high). More to come.

Puig

The Puerto Rican is a great player and she will definitely break in the top20 any soon. Monica has won her maiden title in Strasbourg without dropping a single set. She hasn’t beaten any top player, but her tennis was rock solid for the entire week. This title allowed Monica to climb 15 places to be ranked world no.41. (Career high).

The biggest winner

Silvia Soler-Espinosa reached the final in Strasbourg coming straight from the qualifications. The Spaniard managed to gain 33 places to be ranked world no.85.
