Currently ranked no.311, Andy is still trying to start a proper comeback. The former world no.1 is struggling with his form and he got to this 2nd round in Shenzhen after his opponent, the world no. 340 Zhizhen Zhang had to withdraw while Murray was leading only 4-2 in the 3rd set.

Seeded no,1. David is coming from a fantastic experience in Chicago where he participated to the Laver Cup for Team Europe. Goffin had a direct access to the 2nd round (bye).
