It’s Serena again!

The world no.1 produced another great performance to breeze in the Rome final. The match, well that wasn’t a match. Serena rushed to get a 3-0 lead in no time. The only moment there was a little hope for Sara Errani was when she recovered to go from 1-4 to 3-4 in the opening set. Then… bye bye… Serena won 8 consecutive games to win 6-3 6-0 in just 71 minutes.  A key moment was when Sara got injured in the last game of the opening set not to be able to really compete in the second.

Finally Serena won the match firing 7 aces and scoring 62 points vs. Sara’s 34. Match Stats

The American commented “Sara played really well in the first set. She was doing everything right and I could tell she had obviously improved since our last meeting in Paris last year. It was unfortunate she got injured in the last game of the set, but overall I thought she was playing really well out there.

“Today gave me a great opportunity to understand the atmosphere I’ll have in Paris, too. It was a great opportunity for me. Paris is a Grand Slam and you think differently, you have a little more nerves, everyone’s uptight and excited, the crowd is different, and energy levels can be different too.”

This Serena’s 60th career title, the 3rd of her incredible career. Now time to focus on  the French Open where Serena is the obvious favorite.
