Carlos Alcaraz keeps on marching toward the very top of the rankings after winning the ATP500 in Barcelona. Carlito is now ranked no.9 to get closer and closer to the rankings to his childhood hero Rafael Nadal who is ranked no.4.

Alcaraz in Barcelona, ranking, and results in 2022

Now ranked no.9 (career-high), Carlos has a compiled 23-3 match record in 2022. The Spaniard is now competing in Barcelona where he beat Soon-Woo Kwon 6-1 2-6 6-2, Jaume Antoni Munar Clar 6-3 6-3, Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4 5-7 6-2, Alex De Minaur 6-7⁴ 7-6⁴ 6-4 and Pablo Carreno-Busta 6-3 6-2.

 

Rafael Nadal in 2022

At the moment ranked no.

4, the Spaniard played his last contest on the 20^th of March when he capitulated to world no.13 Taylor Fritz 6-3 7-6(5) in the final in Indian Wells (draw).

Currently, during this season the Spaniard has achieved an overall 20-1 match record. Rafael has won 3 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, at the Australian Open and in Acapulco. Rafael was the runner-up in Indian Wells.
