Carlos Alcaraz is often compared to Rafael Nadal, even if his style is completely different. Nevertheless, it is almost impossible not to liken Carlito to Rafa. Both are Spanish, hard workers, and extremely precocious. Carlos Alcaraz breaks into the top10 on Monday the 25th of April at just 18 years of age after winning the ATP 500 in Barcelona. It’s interesting that Rafael Nadal did precisely the same in 2005. Also, on that occasion, the King of Clay won Barcelona at just 18 years of age to break into the top 10 for the first time in his career.

After winning the event in Catalonia, Carlos Alcaraz commented:

“I’m happy to know that at 18 years old I’m in the Top 10, and to do it [at] the same age as my idol Rafa is impressive.”

Carlito will now rest before trying to win also the upcoming ATP1000 in Madrid that would be played in a couple of weeks.
