‘The decision of Wimbledon is crazy.,’ says Djokovic defending Medvedev, Rublev, Karatsev

Novak Djokovic once again his supported to his fellow tennis players against the decision of not allowing Russians and Belarusians to play Wimbledon

Djokovic And Medvedev

Novak Djokovic is among the many players who oppose the terrible idea of Wimbledon banning tennis players from Russia and Belarus. The tennis world was shocked by the decision of the popular slam not to allow Russians in Belarusian to compete in its upcoming edition because of the insane war waged by Vladimir Putin on Ukrainian.

Therefore top players such as  Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev and Aslan Karatsev will not be able to play the slam in the UK. Once a game, Novak Djokovic came into the defense of his fellow players even if their absence in Wimbledon would have announced his chances to win his 21st slam.

‘The decision of Wimbledon, I think it is crazy.’

On Wednesday in Belgrade, Novak Djokovic commented:

“I will always condemn war, I will never support war being myself a child of war. I know how much emotional trauma it leaves. In Serbia, we all know what happened in 1999. In the Balkans, we have had many wars in recent history.

However, I cannot support the decision of Wimbledon, I think it is crazy. The players, the tennis players, and the athletes have nothing to do with it. When politics interferes with sport, the result is not good.”
