Pospisil loses his 7th consecutive match in Rome

Vasek can’t win a match after his back injury

Vasek Pospisil was one of the youngsters to watch in 2014, but he is having a really bad year instead.

The young Canadian got to the limelight after reaching the semifinal last year in Montreal where he lost to his friend and compatriot Milos Raonic in a dramatic 3 setter (see article).

After that performance he was widely expected to step up, but that didn’t really happen, actually besides reaching the semifinal in Basel 2013 Vasek didn’t really shine.

In 2014 Pospisil has a horrible 5-9 win/loss record and he has now lost his 7th consecutive match in Rome to Kevin Anderson (7-5 7-6).  Things got worse since the young Canadian suffered from a back injury in Melbourne where he wasn’t able to compete against Stanislas Wawrinka in the 3rd round. From that moment Vasek couldn’t win a single match.

Interesting enough when Ebden lost to Pospisil in the 2nd round of the Australian open he accused him to fake injury… well…

Good luck for a prompt recovery!
