Tough decision for Serena Williams.

The world no.1 had to pull out in Madrid due to an injury to her left thigh to not 100% sure if playing in Rome.

Serena suffered got the injury when playing in the first round against Belinda Bencic, then the injury went from bad to worse to retire before playing against Kvitova.

Serena: I am taking a day at a time…

The world no.1 commented “I’m taking it a day at a time. We’ll see as the week goes on. I have the rest of the day off and I’ll see how I feel tomorrow. I hit some balls today a little bit so I’m going to see later tonight how it feels.”

… I didn’t pull out for precautions

Then Serena added “I don’t do anything out of precaution anymore. You live once and I feel like anything can happen tomorrow. I just physically couldn’t play. I was in a lot of pain and just wasn’t able to continue. When I play I want to give 100 percent.”

The feeling is that she will not risk the French Open. At least she can enjoy some cappuccinos in Rome.
