Naomi Osaka starts her campaign in Tokyo in the best possible way after she demolished Dominika Cibulkova in straight sets in her opening match.

Naomi was impressive from the very beginning to set the tone immediately with a 4-0 lead. After winning the first set, the Japanese conceded only the first game of the second set (0-1) before winning 6-2 6-1. The match lasted just 59 minutes.

When asked if she felt any pressure, Naomi replied

“I didn’t really feel any pressure. It was really difficult because she’s such a great player, but I just thought it was more fun.”

Naomi will face either Strycova or Kontaveit for a place in the semifinal.
