‘I’m a bit disappointed with myself’ – Alcaraz not happy, but positive after losing to Korda in Monte Carlo

Carlos Alcaraz was quite disappointed by his performance in Monte Carlo. Next Step: Barcelona.

Carlos Alcaraz In Monte Carlo

Carlos Alcaraz had high expectations about his chances in Monte Carlo, where instead, he lost in his opening match to an inspired Sebastian Korda after battling for 3 hours.

Carlito looked fantastic in the last few weeks when competing on hard courts following his title in Miami. However, he was struggling to find his rhythm when playing on clay in Monte Carlo and in windy conditions. After losing to Korda, Alcaraz admitted that he was quite disappointed and aware that he needed to play more matches on the dirt.

Carlito commented:

“I’m a bit disappointed with myself. I had a lot of chances to be up in the match and close to winning, but these losses are sometimes good to live. You have to play matches.

But I didn’t think about the expectations that the people have for me. I just focused on me and what I have to do. But as I said, you have to play more matches on clay courts.”

Carlito will play his next tournament in Barcelona next week.
