2014 Rome Draw. Federer lucky in Djokovic half, Wawrinka with Nadal

The draw in Rome is out and it’s good news for Roger Federer, if he is going to play.

The Swiss Maestro avoids falling in Nadal’s half and he has an approachable path. The big question mark is if he will play… but it seems so.

Nadal

Rafa had a good draw with the exception that he may play either Isner (he doesn’t like his game) or Murray in the quarters. According to how Murray is playing the Scott should not be a problem for him. In the semis Rafa should play either Wawrinka or Berdych. The Spaniard “owns” Berdych, but he might struggle if Wawrinka steps up.

Djokovic

A recovering Djokovic should have a tough quarter as he might play either Ferrer or Nishikori to then possibly playing Roger in the semifinal.

We have a couple of very interesting first rounds as Nishikori will take on Gulbis and Tsonga will play Dolgopolov.

Here the possible quarters

Nadal – Murray/Isner

Wawrinka – Berdych/Dimitrov

Federer – Raonic/Tsonga

Djokovic – Ferrer/Nishikori
