Nishikori to break in the top 10 from Monday

Good news for Kei Nishikori. The Japanese will definitely reach the top 10 from this coming Monday. Getting to the semifinal in Madrid helped the Japanese to grab the points to overtake Gasquet and Isner.

It is the first time in 10 years since an Asian breaks i the top 10 after Thailand’s Paradorn Srichaphan managed to do that in 2004.

Kei commented “It was a big goal for me to get in Top 10. I have to keep playing better tennis and keep this ranking.””

Nishikori will now play David Ferrer in the semifinal in Madrid to try to get more points to consolidate his top10 ranking.
