‘Naomi Osaka needs thick skin like Raducanu,’ says tennis legend

Chris Evert has a strong point about Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu And Naomi Osaka

Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu have a huge following after their success in majors. Both of them secured huge endorsements and, unfortunately, are often targeted by the so-called haters.

According to a tennis legend, Chris Evert, Naomi Osaka needs to develop a “thick skin” to cope with criticism. Chris maintains that Emma is already handling the pressure extremely well. Unfortunately, Naomi had mental health issues, and she had a huge meltdown when playing in Indian Wells in March.

During an interview with Eurosport, Evert commented:

We are all fans of Naomi Osaka and we have seen the high level of tennis that she can play and we have seen her win Grand Slams.

It has been a struggle for her and I think that she is just sensitive and she is just vulnerable.

You have to have thick skin, that’s a reality and that’s not a criticism. If you don’t have thick skin, you can develop thick skin because you’ve got to understand that if you are this successful, you are out in the open for anybody to judge and for anybody to talk about you.”

Talking about Raducan, Evert added:

“It’s not all the press there, but the tabloids, you just have to be thick-skinned. She has got to be thick-skinned. But I think she is.”
