Daniil Medvedev is once again close to becoming world no.1. The Russian player needs to win his upcoming match against Hubert Hurkaczon Friday in Miami to overtake Novak Djokovic in the live rankings.
Even if Daniil is widely considered the favorite to win the ATP1000 in Miami, he needs to watch out for 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz, who is in fantastic form (click here to see the ATP draw).

Now ranked no.2, the Russian owns a compiled 16-4 record in 2022. Medvedev is currently having a run in Miami where he ousted Andy Murray 6-4 6-2, Pedro Martinez Portero 6-3 6-4 and Jenson Brooksby 7-5 6-1.

Carlos Alcaraz will compete against the world no.48 Miomir Kecmanovic in the quarter on Thursday at 7:00 pm on STADIUM. In the past, they have never played each other until now in top competitions.
