What sad news!
Elena Baltacha passes away at 30 years of age because of a liver cancer.
There are no worlds to express the state of shock of the entire tennis community. Elena had his cancer diagnosed in January and she has announced it only in March. We are just shocked now to hear the horrible news of her death.
Her husband Nino Severino commented “We are heartbroken beyond words at the loss of our beautiful, talented and determined Bally,”
The entire tennis community showed its sorrow. Navratilova, Feliciano Lopez, Laura Robson, Conchita Martinez, Angelique Kerber, Andrea Petkovic, Vika Azarenka, Jurgen Melzer, Sabine Lisicki, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Petra Kvitova, Chris Evert, Donna Veckic, Lindsay Davenport, Billie Jean King, Paul Annacone had tweets for Elena.
Elena reached a career high world no.49 in 2010 to retire last year in November hoping to keep on working in the tennis industry.
