Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin Del Potro are going to play the US Open final.

Juan Martin got to the final act of the Flushing Meadows after Rafael Nadal withdrew in the semifinal while the Argentine was 2 sets up. This wasn’t a surprise because the world no.1 was widely expected to struggle from a physical point of view after he won a very tough match in the quarters against Dominic Thiem.
The key for Del Potro against Nadal was winning a tough 1st set. Already Rafa asked for a trainer in the opener, and later he imploded to lose the second set 6-2. There was no point for Nadal to keep on playing as he was struggling too much and he withdrew when he was 6-7 2-6 down.
Djokovic
Novak had a comfortable straight set win against Kei Nishikori that once again had no answers against the world no.1. Djokovic won the encounter 6-3 6-4 6-2.

Nole leads Juan Martin 14-4 in head to head matches, 7-2 on hard courts, 2-0 at the Us Open.
