Naomi Osaka is now in Miami, where she is about to face Angelique Kerber in the second round. The Japanese sensation has been struggling with mental health issues associated with the considerable stress caused by playing professional tennis.
Last year Osaka had to abandon the French Open after refusing to attend press conferences. She played a small number of tournaments for the rest of the season. This year, Naomi had a rather uncharacteristic meltdown in Indian Wells after being heckled.

Naomi revealed:
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but I finally started talking to a therapist after Indian Wells. It only took like a year after French Open. Yeah, I don’t know, she kind of like told me strategies and stuff. I realize how helpful it is.”
