Serena Williams storms in the US Open semifinal final… Serena’s style.
The American was opposed to Karolina Pliskova in the quarters, and the Czech defeated her in their last encounter in the US Open semifinal 2 years ago.
The match
Serena wanted to avenge that loss, and she did it in style. However, the American legend didn’t start well as she was broken in the 3rd game of the opener (1-2). Still, things started to go much better for Serena from the 7th games when she was 2-4 with Williams winning the following 8 games to grab a decisive 6-4 4-0 lead. Even if Serena was broken soon after (4-1) she didn’t struggle to win the match 6-4 6-3 in just 83 minutes.
