Naomi Osaka, Sofia Kenin, Hailey Baptiste and Linda Fruhvirtova will start their campaign in Miami from the main draw thanks to a wild card. The organization of the WTA1000 event granted main draw wildcards also to Astra Sharma, Alexandra Eala, Ashlyn Krueger, and Robin Montgomery.
Alycia Parks, Storm Sanders, Rebecca Marino, Christina McHale, Natasja Schunk, and Xiyu Wang obtained a wild card for the qualifications.
The tournament will take place from the 21st of March and the defending champion is Ashleigh Barty who is not going to compete this year.
