Ana Ivanovic is a couple steps away from winning the title in Stuttgart.
The Russian Beauty had a tough match against Svetlana Kutznetsova to beat the Russian 6-3 2-6 6-4 in 1 and 53 minutes. The most critical part of the match was when Ana got the decisive break in the 9th game (5-4) of the third set.

“It was a very tough match today, great quality though. I felt from the first moment on it was a tough match with long rallies, and she played well – she’s improving a lot again. Her ball comes a lot heavier with a lot of spin on the clay, and it was tough to get into the rhythm, but I did it after a few games. The second set was a little bit tough for me but overall I’m happy with how the match went.”

Ana will play fellow Serbian Jelena Ivanovic for a place in the final. Head to head is 8-3 for Ivanovic.
