Dominic Thiem is among the top players who will not compete in Indian Wells and Miami. The Austrian champion got injured to his wrist in June 2021 when playing in Mallorca. He decided not to have any wrist operation to skip the entire second half of the last season and the beginning of the actual one. He announced that he would be back only for the clay-court season.

Will Djokovic play in Indian Wells?
Unfortunately, it is pretty sure that also Novak Djokovic will not play in the desert. Indian Wells is a tournament for fully vaccinated players and Novak decided not to get his jab. Curiously, Djokovic is still on the entry list, but a formal announcement about his withdrawal is expected in the next few hours.
Daniil Medvedev, Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas are set to be the first 4 seeds at the tournament.
Dominic Thiem in 2022
Ranked no.51, Dominic played his last match on the 22nd of June 2021 when he had to retire when playing against world no.58 Adrian Mannarino in the 2nd round and the scoreline was 2-5 .
Currently, during this season Thiem has managed to achieve a compiled 0-0 record.
Novak Djokovic in 2022
Now the world no.2, Novak played his last match on the 24th of February when he surrendered to world no.74 Jiri Vesely 6-4 7-6(4) in the quarter in Dubai (draw).
Until now, during this year the Serbian owns a 2-1 match record.
