Sascha Zverev is marching solidly at this edition of the US Open.

The world no.4 is running under the rather even if he won 2 good matches against Peter Polansky (6-2 6-1 6-2) and Nicolas Mahut (6-4 6-4 6-2).

After his last match Sascha has been asked about what is he doing with Lendl and their relationship, The German was happy to comment as follows

“The relation was always there. We’ve known each other for a few years now. I felt like after Wimbledon, it was a perfect time to kind of maybe try something new.

Obviously, the reason I’m with him is to compete and win the biggest tournaments in the world. That’s the only reason he would join as well.”

How they are working right now

“There’s a lot of tactical work, for sure. There’s a lot of mental work, as well, to kind of show me what it takes to compete for Grand Slams. That for sure he has shown me a little bit.”

The training sessions are tough. Hopefully, it will show in the results.”
