Rafael Nadal had a fantastic start to his season after winning the first 3 tournaments he played and following his impressive Australian Open title.
Even if Nadal is ranked number 4, he is in firm command of the live year-to-date (or Race) rankings preceding the newly minted world no.1 Daniil Medvedev.
Djokovic hasn’t played much this year following his deportation from Australia, and he is only no.109 in the race. Stefanos Tsitsipas still has to win a title in 2022, but after reaching the semifinals in Melbourne and Acapulco and the final in Rotterdam, he is no.4.
This log will not change this week (at least for the top players) since there is no tournament taking place at ATP level. Next week all top players will take part in the prestigious ATP1000 in Indian Wells.
