Donna Vekic wins her first career title in Malaysia!
The young Croatian won an incredible final against world no.10 Dominika Cibulkova. Donna had to recover from 1 set down against the Australian Open runner up to win 5-7 7-5 7-6 (4). The most important part of the match was the third set when Donna was leading 5-1 to lose 5 consecutive games missing 3 match points when she was serving on a 5-3 score-line. The 17 years-old commented “I’m so happy – I don’t know what to say, I’m so, so happy!.It was a very tough match. She played very well throughout the whole match. I was up 5-1 in the third set and she came back out playing insane – so I’m happy I was able to get through in the end.”

Dominika said “She played really well today.In the second set I was really close to winning, but she played really well, really strong, and it was just about a few balls out there, really. It was really close. It was such a good match.”
