Why Raducanu won’t win a slam any soon. TENNIS PUNDIT

This is the reason why Emma Raducanu will not win any major any soon

Emma Raducanu

Last September, Emma Raducanu won an impossible US Open title when she started her run in New York straight from the qualifications. Emma conquered the slam with almost no experience of playing at the top level.

Many forecasted that she was due to a tough 2022 since the British teenager has still to get used to playing on the main tour. Unfortunately, Raducanu’s start of the new season was even more challenging than forecasted.

In 2022, Emma has a grim 1-3 win-loss record, and she got injured in 2 of the 4 matches played.

According to tennis pundit Andrew Castle, Raducanu needs to readjust. He commented:

“I still can’t get over the fact of where she has come from and where she is now and how quickly it has all happened. Now those of us in the game are saying hold your horses.

You are unlikely to see her winning another Grand Slam any time soon. She will need two or three years to build into being a regular WTA tour player.

I know she won the US Open without losing a set, 10 matches, coming through qualifying and it is remarkable. That was an illustration of talent and it was almost an aberration, some madness that she went ahead and won that.”

Andrew added that for Emma is just about getting more experience. He added:

“That is life on tour, even the world number one loses matches. It’s just a question of waiting and allowing her to gain and gather experience.”
