Andy Murray was hoping to have a deep run at this US Open edition, but eventually the former world no.1 crashed as early as in the 2nd round.

Currently ranked 382, the Brit was defeated by an in-form Fernando Verdasco (no.32) 7-5 2-6 6-4 6-4. Andy was upset with the result and utterly furious with what happened during the match.

What happened

At the end of the 3rd set, Murray exploded at the lack of control of the US Open officials as apparently, his opponent was benefiting from coaching (that is forbidden).

Andy commented

“He’s sitting there with his coach and his double partner. I had to tell them (the officials) because nobody knows the f***ing rules.

I’m not blaming Fernando and his team; they probably weren’t trying to break any rules.

You’ve got to do better than that. This is one of the biggest events of the world. If you have rules like that, you’ve got to stick to them.”

Do you agree with Murray?
