This week, Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic are engaging in a rather interesting battle for the world number 1 rank. The Russian and the Serbian players are competing in 2 different ATP500 events in Dubai and Acapulco. According to the live rankings, Novak Djokovic can stay number 1 only if he outperforms Daniil Medvedev.
Novak won his opening match in Dubai and Daniil Medvedev conquered his first-round match in Acapulco on Tuesday in straight sets. As of now, Medvedev has 60 points more than Djokovic, 930 points more than Alexander Zverev and 2155 points over Stefanos Tsitsipas (who, as of now, has still to play his first match in Acapulco).

Novak Djokovic will face the world no.26 Karen Khachanov in the 2nd round on Wednesday at 7:00 pm on CENTRE COURT. Their head to head is 4-1 for Djokovic.

Now ranked no.3 (career-high), the German has achieved a 9-3 match record in 2022. Alexander is currently playing in Acapulco where he managed to beat Jenson Brooksby 3-6 7-610 6-2.
Alexander Zverev will come up against the world no.95 Peter Gojowczyk in the 2nd round on Wednesday at 10:00 pm on ESTADIO. Their record is 2-0 for Zverev.
Zverev was the finalist in Montpellier (Open Sud de France).

Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2022
